The Observatory Apartments

The Observatory is an apartment and townhouse development in Kent Town on the existing Bureau of Meteorology site.
The design of the apartment building incorporates numerous references to the existing building and the surrounding area, through its curved concrete vertical elements and the ventilated red brick angled screens. The apartments are spread out over three buildings to reduce the visual bulk of the proposal. The apartments have generous frontages to ensure outstanding levels of natural light and ventilation and to take advantage of the city views. The large car park is cleverly disguised from view and is able to service both the apartments and townhouses. The proposal features extensive hard and soft landscaping through the ground floor plane.
