Our client engaged us to design a major upgrade to their existing building. The brief was to modernise the 100 year old structure by adding a lift, upgrading all services and lobby areas, and construct a new roof terrace for increased amenity for tenants of the building.
The steel lift shaft was carefully detailed and prefabricated off site, when the building was ready, it was craned into place and installed within an hour. It is an integral structural member as it supports the concrete floors that were cut for its inclusion.
